The importance of parent 'me time'

Here at Lets Explore's soft play centre, we understand how exhausting being a parent really is. Some of our staff are parents themselves, and all of us have witnessed how much energy children have. Which is why it's so important to find daytime activities that offer children the room to expend that energy,  coupled with the space to let their imaginations fly.

However, we also think it's important to prioritise parents too. Looking after children means there's little time in the day to focus on you. Mums and dads need a break, but whether that's being able to sit down quietly with a coffee or flip through a magazine, finding a spare moment can feel almost impossible. Which is why it's so important to find daytime activities that offer children the room to expend that energy, coupled with the space to let their imaginations fly.

A day of 'doing nothing' at home isn't an option that little ones understand, so nine times out of ten it's easier to get out and about. Finding ideas for days out with your children can dominate what little time you have left to yourself once the children are tucked up in bed at night.

The benefits of your local soft play centre

If you're looking for activity ideas, taking your child/ children to a soft play centre is the ideal way to give them an experience they'll love as well as offering you a chance to sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge they're in a protective and stimulating environment.

Far from feeling guilty for taking the time to enjoy a coffee, the parents who visit us admit it's a wonderful break while they watch their children explore, socialise with others, and get some exercise.

In fact, it's an option that many parents are now starting to appreciate on a regular basis. In March 2018, the Office for National Statistics revealed that for the first time 'soft play sessions' appeared in its annual 'basket of goods' review, which examines the goods and services we value in our day-to-day lives.

Our soft play centre aims to provide a haven for children and a refuge for parents looking for a little time when you don't have to worry about entertaining the kids. We've got everything children need to keep them happy, and everything adults need to relax, including comfortable seating and a barista-run café serving quality coffees and delicious snacks.
With a strict cleaning regime, well organised activities, separate baby and toddler areas, and the latest equipment, we tick all the boxes for a stress-free day out for the whole family.

If you haven't visited us before and have a question about our facilities get in touch today or check out our Frequently Asked Questions page to see if the topic is covered.
